The International Association for the Physical Sciences of the Oceans (IAPSO) is one of eight Associations of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) which, in turn, is one of the Unions of the International Council for Science (ICSU).

The website for the IAHS - IAPSO - IASPEI Joint Assembly in Gothenburg, Sweden, 22-26 July 2013, is now on line.

IAPSO participates in ICSU's Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR).
An important part of the co-operation with SCOR is the formation of joint working groups.

IAPSO interacts with UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC).
